Behind the shoot: How we brought Studio Goods’ rebrand to life

A rebrand is more than a new logo, colour palette or a shiny new website.
When the business has evolved, the visuals need to catch up too.
That was exactly the case for Studio Goods, the new chapter of Melbourne-based creative studio founded by Britt.
After five years as Studio Kie, Britt was ready to officially introduce Studio Goods, a brand that better reflected the work she was doing, the clients she wanted to work with and where she wanted to take the business next.
And we were very excited to be part of the visual side of that transition.

From Studio Kie to Studio Goods
Studio Goods helps small-to-medium businesses build brands that look good, feel like them and have a little more personality.
The new identity needed to reflect that.
Britt described the visual direction as bold, colourful, playful and a little unexpected, with strong typography, bright colour, playful graphics and personality-led imagery.
There’s also a little nostalgia and editorial influence throughout, balanced with a clean and considered foundation.
In other words: definitely not your standard corporate branding shoot.
Starting with the creative direction
One of the most important parts of the shoot was understanding what the new Studio Goods identity needed to feel like.
Britt already had a really clear creative vision, which meant the shoot wasn't about starting from scratch. It was about taking that vision and translating it into imagery.
The goal was to create photography that felt confident, creative and fun while still giving the brand enough versatility to work across its website, social channels and marketing.
So rather than simply creating a collection of polished headshots, we thought about the bigger visual library.
Different compositions.
Different expressions.
Details.
Movement.
Portraits.
Space to add copy.
And imagery that could live comfortably alongside the new branding.

Making the shoot feel like Studio Goods
This is where the studio setup became part of the creative process.
With a strong visual identity already in place, the shoot needed enough variety to keep the imagery feeling fresh without losing consistency.
We played with composition, styling and the environment to create frames that felt more editorial and personality-led.
The result wasn't just a gallery of “brand photos”.
It was a collection of assets that could help Studio Goods show up as the brand it had become.
More than just a rebrand shoot

One of the things we love about a rebrand is that it gives a business a chance to rethink how it presents itself as a whole.
For Britt, Studio Goods wasn't simply a new name.
It represented five years of growth, a clearer direction and an exciting next chapter for the business.
That meant the imagery needed to feel like part of that story too.
The final gallery gives Studio Goods a mix of visual assets to introduce the new brand, tell its story and keep showing up consistently long after the launch.
And that's really the point of a good branding shoot.
You're not just creating beautiful images for launch day.
You're building a visual library that can grow with the business.
The final frame
Seeing the new Studio Goods identity come together across the branding, website and photography was pretty special, especially knowing how much thought had gone into getting it there.
We're proud to have played a small part in bringing Britt's vision to life and even more excited to see where this next chapter takes Studio Goods. 🖤
